DP World Tour launch Hero Cup with Ryder Cup front of mind

Announced today at the BMW PGA Championship, the DP World Tour’s flagship event, the new Hero Cup will be played from January 13-15 at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club with improved Ryder Cup performance in mind.

The event will see two ten player teams, one representing Great Britain & Ireland and one Continental Europe, go head-to-head in a match play format with European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald overseeing proceedings.

Donald will work with the two playing captains and be on hand to watch potential team members in a Ryder Cup like format as he attempts to bring together a team that will likely be without team veterans Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia, among others, due to their signing with LIV Golf.
