Fox Cricket’s Brendon Julian has launched a passionate defence of under-fire Australian coach Justin Langer, saying ‘players have got to take responsibility’ for the team’s poor performances in recent months.
Langer’s intense and often confrontational manner has rubbed some players the wrong way, and the failures in the West Indies and Bangladesh led to the former player copping a barrage of criticism amid reports he’d lost the dressing room.
Cricket Australia yesterday responded with a strongly-worded statement in support of Langer – and seven-cap Australian Test player Julian followed that up by declaring there’s ‘no way in the world’ they would sack him.
