Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn steps down as captain, Big Bash

Chris Lynn – the destructive right-hander – has stepped down as Brisbane Heat captain after three years.

The Queenslander, who threatened to take international cricket by storm but now is a T20 gun-for-hire – confirmed he was stepping down to concentrate on his batting.

“It’s been a huge honour to skipper the Heat for the last three years and I am very grateful for all the backing and support from the players, coaching and backroom staff and the loyal Heat fans and sponsors,” Lynn said in a statement.

“I am very proud to have led the boys and I have really my time as captain. I have thought long and hard about my decision, and I think it is the right time for someone else to take over the reins and keep building with this talented group of players.”
