Commonwealth Games 2022 Live Day 9: Vinesh Phogat, Ravi Dahiya, Naveen win gold; IND 2-0 SA in hockey semifinal

The Indian men’s hockey team go into the halftime with a 2-0 advantage over South Africa in the semi-finals. 

India’s Naveen puts a strong show against Pakistan’s Muhammad Sharif Tahir in men’s 74kg freestyle wrestling final.

India gained a 2-0 lead in the initial phase of the bout and hold onto it until the time-out, which was taken with three minutes still remaining. 

The Indian took another two points and then went on to capitalise on it and extended his lead to 9-0.

Naveen eventually won the match 9-0 to win another gold in wrestling. 

The first quarter between India and South Africa in the men’s hockey semifinal ends goalless.
