It’s easy to forget just how young Cameron Green is, such has been his seamless transition to Test cricket.
For other Australian all-rounders, their transitions were far less eye-catching.
Shane Watson was chosen more on potential than anything else, Andrew McDonald was a bits-and-pieces cricketer, while Andrew Symonds and Steve Waugh took years to find their feet.
But Green, 23, was being compared to Andrew Flintoff, the type of player Australia has always felt they needed, well before he made his Test debut in late 2021.
