Dual All-Australian Kane Cornes believes offloading Brodie Grundy would solve a “significant problem” for Collingwood as speculation mounts the Pies could float the prospect of a trade with the ruckman.
Cornes’ comments come after ex-Lions and Power star Tom Rockliff on the weekend suggested Grundy “will not be at Collingwood next year”, telling Triple M the Pies would be “happy to part ways with him”. Rockliff said the Giants had been floated as one possible suitor, while a move to Port Adelaide would make sense considering the Power’s ruck struggles this season.
This is despite Grundy’s current contract — reportedly worth $1 million per season across seven years — tying him to the Magpies until at least the end of the 2027 season.
