Blind player Steffan Nero rewrites history books with unbeaten 309

Australian blind cricketer Steffan Nero has rewritten the record books, scoring an unbeaten 309 off 140 balls against New Zealand in the International Cricket Inclusion Series to guide the hosts to a 270-run victory in Brisbane.

During a three-hour batting masterclass, the opening batter smashed 49 fours and a six, the first of the series, to help Australia register a whopping team total of 2/542 off 40 overs.

The Kiwis were rolled for 272 in response, with Nero completing five run-outs as wicketkeeper.

His triple century betters the previous world record of 262 not out, set by Pakistan’s Masood Jan at the 1998 Blind Cricket World Cup.
