The sun has officially set in the west. For the second-straight season, the Phoenix Suns have crashed out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion, this time 125-100 at the hands of the Denver Nuggets.
A sick Michael Malone may have lost his voice but even the Nuggets coach was more vocal than the majority of the home crowd at Footprint Center as the Suns fell behind 81-51 at halftime.
The Suns had been without Chris Paul for most of the Western Conference semi-final series and were dealt another blow ahead of Friday’s game with starting center Deandre Ayton (ribs) sidelined.
