AUBURN, Alabama–Auburn and its new head coach, Johnnie Harris, will open the 2021-22 women’s basketball season at home November 11th to begin a 12-game non-conference schedule. Fans can get a preview of the team a week earlier as the Tigers play a home exhibition contest on Nov. 4th vs. Miles College.
Harris takes over a program that is coming off the worst season in its history when Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy’s team did not win a Southeastern Conference game. The SEC is expected to announce its schedule of league games next week.
Auburn has won nine SEC championships (regular season and tournament titles) and Harris has a goal of getting the program back to that level. Auburn’s last SEC Championship came in 2008-09 when Coach Nell Fortner’s team finished with a 30-4 overall record with a 12-2 mark in league play.
