Travis Head is the latest player to join Australia’s extensive injury list and has been ruled out of the final ODI against Sri Lanka with a minor hamstring strain.
Head left the field in the final overs of Australia’s four-run loss that handed a series victory to Sri Lanka on Tuesday and captain Aaron Finch said he was unsure if the injury would prevent Head from taking part in the first of two Tests in Galle starting next week.
Ashton Agar has also said he will miss the first Test with a side strain while Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc have also been ruled out of the final ODI in Colombo, further disrupting preparations for the Test series.
Smith suffered a quad strain during the 2nd ODI and Starc has failed to recover from a lacerated finger sustained during the T20I series in time to play in the dead rubber and Australia will give both players more time to regain full…
