Having qualified for the match play on one-over-par, two shots better than the cut off mark, Bennett struggled early in her match Canada’s Savannah Grewal, the World No.75 reaching the 9th hole at three-over for the day.
Then came the spark she needed.
With 185 metres left to the par-5 9th at Hunstanton, Bennett hit a perfect 6-iron that bounced and rolled up to within inches of the cup for an eagle that set her on her way.
